Cashfeed raises 1.3 million euros for smart e-invoicing

Jul 10, 2025

The AI-driven e-invoicing tool Cashfeed has raised 1.3 million euros. With this, the Ghent startup from the StarApps group aims to fully capitalize on the opportunities that mandatory e-invoicing in Belgium brings. "With Cashfeed, you manage your invoices and payments up to ten times faster," say the founders.

From 2026, e-invoicing will be mandatory. More and more entrepreneurs and accountants are therefore switching to digital invoicing tools. However, many of these systems prove to be outdated, slow, and not very automated.

Cashfeed takes a different approach. The AI software takes care of the entire invoicing process. Invoices are automatically collected from mailboxes, the PEPPOL network, and online portals. Payments can be made with a single click, possibly after approval through trusted channels like Microsoft Teams or Slack. Thanks to a smart AI function, unpaid outgoing invoices are automatically recognized and followed up.

In addition to business owners, Cashfeed also eases the daily administration of many accountants. The tool automatically scans invoices and should, in the long term, also link them immediately to the correct accounting information, such as VAT codes and general ledger accounts. The AI solution integrates smoothly with external software, such as Exact Online.

“Many business leaders and accountants still spend too much time on research and manual administration,” says Dennis Verjans, co-founder of Cashfeed. “Our tool automates the entire process, from inbox to payment. With Cashfeed, invoicing and managing payments is up to ten times faster. Our solution is connected to the PEPPOL network and works seamlessly with external software. As a result, month-end or quarter-end closures can be completed up to three times faster.”

35,000 invoices

Since the launch in March, things have progressed quickly. Cashfeed now has more than 350 customers, including security company Aikido and ordering and payment platform orderBilly. The startup has processed over 35,000 invoices. The team has rapidly grown to seven employees.

Collaboration with Baker Tilly

In the context of the funding round, Cashfeed also announces a collaboration with the accounting and consulting firm Baker Tilly. The company will now support Cashfeed with strategic advice and actively test the tool with its clients.

“Cashfeed aligns perfectly with our growing digitalization story. Today, consulting firms still spend too much time reminding clients to submit receipts or VAT returns on time. A solution like Cashfeed offers direct added value: entrepreneurs are fully relieved, while we focus more on our advisory role,” says Steff Siau, Partner and certified tax accountant at Baker Tilly.

Capitalizing on opportunities

The funding round of 1.3 million euros was led by tech fund Pitchdrive, with participation from StarApps and support from VLAIO. The startup wants to fully focus on product development for the Belgian market, in anticipation of the e-invoicing requirement in 2026.

“In the short term, we want to fully respond to that new obligation,” says Stijn Heuninck. “We want to become the reference in Belgium in terms of smart invoicing. After that, we look beyond the borders. By 2030, many other European countries will also have to comply with the ViDa regulations on e-invoicing. This opens up beautiful perspectives.”
